ABOUT
Hello there!I am Natalie Asport. I currently live in New York City as a video game developer at Avalanche Studios. I am a 5-year veteran of the Video Games Industry having worked on AAA titles, Just Cause 3 and Just Cause 4, released on all platforms.
I hail from Orlando, FL, however I am originally from Newburgh, NY. Graduated in Computer Animation from Full Sail University in Orlando, FL where I earned my B.Sc. in 2013. Upon graduating, I took on several internships. One with Full Sail and one with medical illustration company, Legal Demonstrative Exhibits (LDE). I got my start in the industry as a 3D Artist for LDE. This experience garnered the attention of Swedish video game developer, Avalanche Studios and recruiters looking for Artists to join the NYC team. In 2014, I joined Avalanche Studios as an Environment Artist and eventually worked on the 3D environment art for what would be my first (and major) project in the game industry, Just Cause 3. I would then go on to serve as a Vehicles & Weapons Artist on the continuation of the franchise, Just Cause 4. I have spoken at various events focused in game development, including Playcrafting’s Women In Games, NYC ACM SIGGRAPH's Breaking Into Games, Marist College's Game Conference, Avalanche's In-studio Student Tours initiative, Full Sail's Behind The Scenes Tours, discussing how to break into the industry, what it is like to be a game developer, and other industry related topics. Beyond that I also found myself being an educator. I teach a once-a-week course at NYU's Game Center called 3D Modeling for Games where students learn to create game-ready art using the current industry standard tools, techniques, workflows, and softwares. Outside of that world, my passions include writing, singing, and performing my original songs, playing guitar, scriptwriting, traditional art, learning, cooking equally delicious, nutritious, and cruelty-free meals, being an active advocate for animal rights and social justice issues, and continuously advancing my skill-set in computer graphics, visual arts, and all things creative. Thanks for visiting and taking the time to read. -Natalie |
